I’ll be honest, much of my excitement about the impending release of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD centers around the fact that the game comes with a download code for the Final Fantasy XV demo, a game that I have been looking forward to since the disappointment of the Final Fantasy XIII games. I have a standing agreement with a friend of mine who owns a PS4 that we can go halvsies on the game so that I can play that demo.
However, to keep you occupied until the game hits on March 15, Squeenix has partnered with Amazon to run a crazy online Twitter RPG where you can login with your Twitter account…and play an RPG? Seriously, you play an in-browser RPG with a chosen character by attacking with tweets, using a surprisingly robust graphical interface on Amazon’s website. Go check it out! It’s a weirdly fun time-waster. And I guess its done its job, too, because playing the Twitter version makes me marginally more excited about playing the real game when it hits. Also, apparently, there’s prizes somehow? So maybe I’ll win something, that would be cool.
So for those of you following me on Twitter…sorry. Get ready to see a bunch of these for the next few weeks.
